Kings vs. Clippers score: DeMarcus Cousins drops 31 on L.A.'s D-List, Sacramento wins 99-88

DeMarcus Cousins had another huge game. Greivis Vasquez played. Fun was had by all.

So it turns out that if the Clippers sit Blake Griffin, Chris Paul and DeAndre Jordan, they are not a very good team. Who knew? The Kings beat the resting Clips 99-88 at Sleep Train Arena on Monday, though yours truly did not get to see the game. Playing against Byron Mullens, Louis Amundson and Ryan Hollins, DeMarcus Cousins dropped 31 points on 11-18 (9-11 line) shooting in 28 minutes. He and Jason Thompson had 11 rebounds each. Cousins was a +23 on the floor.

Greivis Vasquez made his preseason debut, playing most of the first quarter. His stats were modest (2 points, 1 assist, 2 rebounds, 1 turnover), but everyone seemed to enjoy his presence. That said, Isaiah Thomas jumped in off the bench to offer up 16 points on 4-8 (8-8 line) shooting with five assists in 29 minutes. Isaiah has been good to really good in all three preseason games.

Ben McLemore scored 7 points on 3-9 shooting, but did add five rebounds in 23 minutes, which is good. Doing something in addition to scoring is important. Ray McCallum and Chuck Hayes played but didn't put much in the box score. Jimmer Fredette got a DNP-CD. Patrick Patterson had 9 points and 7 rebounds off the bench. John Salmons and Travis Outlaw were both average. Marcus Thornton played light minutes and took few shots, but hit 3-4.

And some post-game reaction from Michael Malone and Cousins.
