Tyreke Evans leaves Sacramento after four of the most grueling years in the franchise's history. The decision not to retain him and the ensuing sign-and-trade have been analyzed to death, so let's take a step back and offer some appreciation.

Tyreke trade can't be judged until the moves end
Tyreke will reportedly be traded to the Pelicans for Greivis Vasquez and Robin Lopez. The Kings still don't have a passable starting small forward. What's next?

Robin Lopez due $10 million over 2 years
Lopez could have been waived by Friday to wipe off all but $500,000 of the $10 million due to him. But being involved in a post-July 10 trade means that can't happen.

The Bee's Ailene Voison is reporting that the Kings will not match New Orleans' offer for Tyreke Evans, and are working on a sign-and-trade where the Kings will receive Greivis Vasquez and Robin Lopez.

Reports indicate that Tyreke Evans gave Sacramento until today to make an offer. Absent that offer, there are now reports that Tyreke and the Pelicans are finalizing an offer sheet. Should Kings fans worry? Not so fast.
