DeMarcus Cousins admitted to hospital for treatment, will not play this weekend

Jesse Johnson-USA TODAY Sports

Kings Center DeMarcus Cousins has been battling an especially nasty virus that has knocked him out of action for the last three games.  Cousins tried to give it a go yesterday but was deemed unfit to play prior to tip-off.

Today, Cousins was admitted to the hospital for further treatment and rest per a press release from the Kings.  The King say he will not be in uniform this weekend and aims to return sometime next week.  Sacramento plays two games this weekend, a back to back this Friday and Saturday against the Indiana Pacers and Orlando Magic.  Under normal circumstances, these would likely be easy wins, but Sacramento has yet to win a game without DeMarcus Cousins in the Mike Malone era and have lost their last four in a row.

Hopefully this extended period of rest will allow DeMarcus to recover fully without any adverse affects and he can get back on the court as soon as possible, because the Kings definitely need him at his best.
