The Sacramento Kings are engaged in trade talks with the Cleveland Cavaliers, with talks centering on Jason Thompson and Jarrett Jack, according to ESPN's Marc Stein.
ESPN has learned Cavs are in talks w/Sacramento on deal to swap Jarrett Jack for Jason Thompson. BUT Cavs looking for third team to route JT

As talks currently stand, I'm told Cavs NOT inclined to send Jarrett Jack to Sacramento UNLESS they find third team to take Jason Thompson

It's unsurprising that the Kings are shopping Thompson, as one of the few remaining holdovers from the Geoff Petrie era. He's been speculated to be on the trade block all season.
It's also unsurprising that the Cavaliers are hesitant to take Thompson directly, as he's owed over $6 million per season for the next three years. Thompson also has a 5% trade kicker, making any trade a tougher pill for teams to swallow.
The continued trade chatter confirms suspicions that the Kings will remain active right up to the deadline. Stay tuned.
