In the 2014 NBA Draft Lottery, the Sacramento Kings landed the 8th pick in the 2014 NBA Draft.

This marks the 8th straight year where the lottery gods failed to smile on Sacramento.  During that run, the Kings have either held their position or fallen in the draft every year.  It's a disappointment, to be sure, but Kings fans can take solace in the knowledge that this is a very deep draft and there promises to still be talented players available once the Kings are on the clock.

Ultimately, we can rejoice in the knowledge that it's still the Sacramento Kings who are making this selection.  We may not have won the lottery this year, but we won a much bigger battle.

The NBA Draft will be held on June 26th, so now the front office will kick into high gear.  Knowing where they'll be selecting allows the Kings to begin their draft research in earnest.  Over the coming month we'll have plenty of draft coverage here at Sactown Royalty.  We'll have player profiles, workout reports, mock draft, the community draft board, and much more.
