The Kings are going to the Summer League Finals after beating the Washington Wizards 74 to 62 on Sunday night.
Sacramento went up by 20 points in the first half thanks to an offensive explosion from Marshon Brooks, who scored all 14 of his points in the first half. Washington was eventually able to cut it back down to single digits but they were never close enough to make it dangerous.
Both the Wizards and Kings showed signs of fatigue throughout, with this being their 6th game in a little over a week. Rookie Nik Stauskas scored all 7 of his points in the first half but only shot 3-12 for the game and 1-6 from three. Ben McLemore only scored 6 points on 2-8 shooting after three good games in a row.
Ray McCallum led the way for the Kings with 11 points, 6 assists and 4 rebounds on 5-10 shooting. Quincy Acy had 10 points and 4 rebounds to go with 2 blocks. Eric Moreland was huge off the bench with 6 points, 12 rebounds and 3 blocks in just 20 minutes of action. Jared Cunningham also added 10 points off the bench. The bench as a whole carried the Kings through this game, and I think that was partly because of the fatigue factor.
For Washington, Glen Rice, Jr. scored a game-high 24 points but took 23 shots to do it. He also only made 1 of his 9 three point attempts. Otto Porter was the only other Wizard in double-digits with 16 points on 7-18 shooting. The Wizards as a team shot just 35.2%.
Sacramento now advances to face Houston in the Summer League final tomorrow at 6 pm Pacific time.
