Kings 94, Blazers 90: Bench takes Kings home

Wins > losses, even in preseason

Kelley L Cox-USA TODAY Sports

Another day, another preseason win for the Kings who improve to 3-1 in the postseason. I missed most of the game, but good to see Seth Curry give the team a spark in the fourth quarter.  Curry finished with 6 points, 2 steals and an assist in about 16 minutes of action. Darren Collison led the Kings with 18 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals.  C.J. McCollum almost single-handedly willed the Blazers back into the game, scoring 30 points on 11-20 shooting and making 5 three pointers.  Most of McCollum's damage came in the 3rd quarter.

This game featured the fourth starting lineup in as many preseason games for the Kings with Coach Karl opting to go with a dual point guard look of Rajon Rondo and Darren Collison in the backcourt.  Caron Butler took Rudy Gay's place in the starting lineup as it was Rudy's turn to rest.

Kings next play October 13th for their annual preseason date with the Lakers in Vegas.
