Some Sacramento Kings fans and the media were beside themselves Wednesday with a short interview clip in which Rajon Rondo claimed to be feuding with head coach George Karl.
"It hasn't been going too well," he said. "We got into a couple of arguments the last couple of days, but we continue to talk and get better."
Except there was a small matter of this being a classic case of Rondo being Rondo, it turns out. He was just kidding you guys! It seems like his deadpan delivery of said joke might have gotten lost in translation but Karl had some interesting things to say about his point guard afterwards.
"Rondo and I are going to have a lot of fights, we’re going to have a lot of discussions, but it’s never been a problem." -Karl on Rondo

A chuckling Karl backed Rondo up fully and had this to say to reporters.
"You’re being tricked. Rondo is hilarious. My relationship with Rondo is so good, if it gets better, I’d get scared." -George Karl

With that nonsense out of the way, we can get back to counting down the days until the regular season begins and the games finally matter again.
