Rudy Gay diagnosed with concussion, out versus Houston Rockets

Rudy Gay has been officially diagnosed with a concussion and will miss Wednesday's game against the Houston Rockets.

The Sacramento Kings announced that Rudy Guy has officially been diagnosed with a concussion. Gay will have to pass league concussion protocol prior to returning to the floor. Due to the requirements of the protocol, Gay is already officially ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Houston Rockets.

Via the link Kayte shared, Rudy will be evaluated at increasing activity levels, and must prove to be symptom free at each stage before advancing to the next. Gay will, in all likelihood, miss somewhere around a week's time. With the season winding down, it's difficult to see a scenario where the Kings even attempt to rush Gay back into action.

Despite head coach George Karl's hopes of instilling a particular culture in the Kings, injuries have plagued the team since the All Star break. Darren Collison was ruled out for the year, while DeMarcus Cousins and Rudy Gay have both missed time with a variety of injuries.

The Kings convey their first round draft pick if it falls outside the top 10 picks. The Kings currently have the 6th-worse record in the league. If the current standings held, the Kings could pick no lower than 9th.
