Kings vs. Lakers Preview: And now our watch is ended

Ed Szczepanski-USA TODAY Sports

As miserable as this season was, I'm still not ready for Kings basketball to be over.  The Kings finish off the season tonight in Los Angeles, and it will likely be the last time we see quite a few of these players in Kings uniforms.  Be sure to join us at our live viewing party at Strikes Unlimited if you can make it. Tonight's game tips off at 7:30 pm Pacific on CSN California and KHTK Sports 1140.

3 THINGS TO LOOK FOR

1.  The shorthanded kings might be even more shorthanded tonight as Omri Casspi is suffering from gastroenteritis and is listed as questionable.  Casspi has been Sacramento's go-to guy as of late and it's kinda sad that he might not play tonight because there is a chance he isn't here next year as he will be an unrestricted Free Agent.

2.  Given that it's the last game of the season, with nothing really on the line, I would like to see some extended minutes for a guy like David Stockton.  At this point, how could it hurt?

3.  If the Kings beat the Lakers tonight, it will be the Lakers worst winning percentage in Franchise history.  That'd be a nice parting gift for the season.

MATCHUP OF THE GAME

Jordan Hill vs. Carl Landry

One of the few things the Lakers had going for them against the Kings on Monday was Jordan Hill having his way with Carl Landry.  Hill made a lot of long jumpers early, shots that ideally you'd like to see him take.  He ended up missing them later as the game went on but the Kings will need to be a bit more respectful of his jump shot tonight.  I'd also like to see them get Carl more involved in the offense down low as he's just so good there.

PREGAME LIMERICK

This season of turmoil is finally over,
it left me blue like Sesame Street's Grover.
Next is the draft,
and maybe I'm daft,
but in the lottery lets bring a four leaf clover.

PREDICTION

Kings 999, Lakers 0 because goddammit, let me have this dream.
