This time of the year is crazy. Yet I don't know what's crazier, these Cousins and Karl rumors, or this latest report from Yahoo! Sports Marc Spears:
In midst of DeMarcus saga, Kings showing strong interest in free agent C JaVale McGee, a source said. McGee played for George Karl in Denver

JaVale McGee, really? It's known that the Kings do want a shotblocker and McGee certainly provides that, but he's also been a fairly big disappointment over his career, with his talent not necessarily translating to on-court success. For a team that is trying to get smarter, adding a player with a reputation for terrible basketball IQ like JaVale McGee doesn't add up. Sure, it theoretically works if McGee can figure it out, and given his injury history the past couple years the price might be minimal, but man, I'm not sure I'd want the Kings going this route to try to add a little bit of rim protection.
This might also be a contingency plan in case the Kings do not end up drafting someone like Willie Cauley-Stein, or miss out on a player like Kosta Koufos in Free Agency.
But man, there are a ton of players I'd rather see the Kings pursue this offseason before they even begin to think about JaVale McGee.
Personally I like Matt Moore's theory:
… is this the Kings threatening Karl to back off? "CHILL OUT ABOUT BOOGIE OR WE’RE GIVING YOU JAVALE BACK"
