In the latest of endless rumors linking Rajon Rondo to the Sacramento Kings, Marc Stein is reporting that Rudy Gay is actively recruiting Rondo into what would likely be a one year deal in Sacramento.
Free-agent scuttle: Kings forward Rudy Gay is among loudest voices urging on-the-market point guard Rajon Rondo to come to Sacramento

And word is Rondo, wherever he goes next, could well go the one-year-contract route as he looks to rebound from bumpy season with Celts/Mavs

Now, I will be the first to say that I have never been a huge Rondo fan, but seeing as point guard is a major need for the Sacramento Kings, and their history, both good and bad, of taking on guys with troubled history, I would definitely take a chance on Rajon Rondo for the right price. Darren Collison and Rajon Rondo would be a very good pairing at the point guard, and give the Kings an opportunity to ensure that a solid play maker could be on the court at all times.
The only issue for me would be how much he is willing to take. His stock plummeted after the disastrous Mavericks tenure, but we are yet to see what that truly means. Either way, we can expect to hear many more rumors about Rondo, and countless other point guards in the hours leading up to Free Agency. Rondo's name and the Sacramento Kings have been linked for as long as the new ownership group has been in place. Could this longstanding rumor finally become reality? It will if Rudy has his say in it.
