Prepare yourselves, Kings fans. It seems increasingly likely that Rajon Rondo and the Sacramento Kings may soon reach an agreement on a short-term contract. This has been rumored for a while now, but Yahoo's Marc Spears has some recent updates that make this seem inevitable.

Barring unforseen complications, I would expect a deal to be reached soon. I'm not as opposed to this partnership as some are. I think Rondo still has a lot of talent to lend to a team when he's engaged. On a short-term contract with an intention to rehabilitate his image, he should be properly motivated. George Karl likes smart ball handlers, and is willing to hand them the reigns. Call me crazy, but this could work out.
