After much rampant speculation, the Sacramento Kings and Rajon Rondo are finally committed to eachother for at least the 2015-2016 year.
Rondo is trying to recover from his disastrous last stint with the Mavericks, where he bogged down the offense all year before flaming out spectacularly in the Playoffs by basically quitting on the team. Its possible that no other team expressed interest in Rondo, and with the Kings spurned left and right by free agents, it seems like the two parties are made for eachother.
Rondo is known to be a brooding and moody locker room presence and comes to a situation where DeMarcus Cousins, George Karl, and the Front Office all seem to be on a knife's edge. That being said, Rudy Gay was a strong advocate for Rondo behind the scenes and Cousins has spoken highly of him in the past. Rondo was one of the league's best point guards a few years ago and brings in a championship pedigree; nothing greases team chemistry like winning does.
The Kings still have a decent amount of capspace remaining, so the offseason of changes may not be finished just yet. Buckle up.
