The Sacramento Kings have three representatives playing for their countries during this year's Eurobasket: Omri Casspi, Marco Belinelli and Kosta Koufos. All three are playing for some of the better teams in Europe and all look to be moving to the next round of play.
Casspi has been single-handedly leading Israel in the tournament, averaging 18.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists while shooting 50% from the field and beyond the arc. Casspi has led Israel to a 3-1 record in the tournament and will play France today in their toughest matchup to date.
The Kings put together a highlight package of Casspi's play that you can watch below:
Belinelli has also had a good tournament, and has particularly come up clutch in the last couple games with big shots down the stretch, helping Italy beat Germany in overtime. While Danilo Gallinari has been leading the team, Belinelli is playing a valuable supporting role, averaging 17.5 points, 4.3 rebounds and 3.5 assists a game. Belinelli has been shooting a majority of his shots as three pointers, with 38 attempts from downtown compared to just 15 two point attempts. That disparity accounts for his 35.8% field goal percentage, but he is making 39.5% of his threes.
Koufos hasn't had as much of a statistical impact for Greece as Casspi and Belinelli for their countries, but that's not how Koufos plays anyway. He's still managing to put up good numbers, with 11 points, 7.0 rebounds and 0.8 blocks while shooting 52.6% from the field. With Koufos anchoring the defense, Greece has gotten off to a 4-0 start.
