Injury bug will set Kings back against Mavericks

Godofredo Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports

It looks like someone is going to have to retrofit the Sacramento Kings' private plane with some more comfortable seats because there is an epidemic of back spasms going on right now.  The Kings released their injury report for tonight's game in Dallas and it is lengthy:

For tonight's game at Dallas, here is the injury report for Sacramento:

Omri Casspi (Upper Back Soreness) - QUESTIONABLE
Ben McLemore (Middle Back Spasm) - QUESTIONABLE
Rajon Rondo (Lower Back Spasm) - DOUBTFUL
Willie Cauley Stein (Right Index Finger Laceration) - OUT
Eric Moreland (Left 5th Metatarsal Fracture) - OUT
Duje Dukan (Right Tibial Bone Contusion) - OUT

Casspi missed Monday's game against the Thunder with back issues and McLemore also had to leave the game after experiencing some back pain.  Now starting Point Guard Rajon Rondo has been added to the mix of players dealing with back issues.  It also appears that the Kings aren't taking any chances with Willie Cauley-Stein, listing him as out despite the fact that he stated last night that the stitches would not keep him out of tonight's game.

It's too bad that Rondo won't be able to go tonight as it would have been the first time playing the Mavericks in Dallas since last year's debacle with the team.  The Kings got the win over Dallas earlier this year in Sacramento with Rondo tallying 21 points.  In Rondo's absence we'll see yet another former Mavericks Point Guard start in Darren Collison.  Collison has been playing very well as of late, averaging 15.3 points and 6.3 assists a game over his last four games.

The Mavericks are a bit healthier than Sacramento but will likely be without starting Point Guard Deron Williams.  Williams is dealing with a hamstring issue and J.J. Barea will probably get the start in Williams' absence.
