There's no wrong way to say goodbye to Kobe Bryant

The Kings host Kobe Bryant in Sacramento for the final time on Thursday. There's been some debate on how to properly say goodbye. Do you boo? Do you applaud? There are strong arguments on both sides, and I don't think there's a wrong answer. Boo him, and he'll know why and he'll appreciate it. Applaud in recognition and he'll appreciate it too. Personally, I'd do both. I would boo while clapping. A fond yet bitter farewell to our enemy.

Kobe is representative of our hatred of the Lakers. He's all that remains from the rivalry of our glory days. I'm sure we'll always hate the Lakers, but it won't be the same after this. He's always been our most worthy adversary. The villain we love to hate. Batman is most fun when he's facing the Joker, but our Joker is saying goodbye.

I'll miss our nemesis. Farewell, Kobe. It was fun to hate you.
