DeMarcus Cousins returned to Sacramento to play the Kings for the first time since being traded last season to the New Orleans Pelicans.

Cousins had a monster game, scoring 41 points and grabbing 23 rebounds, to go along with 6 assists in a 114-106 win over the Kings.

Coming out of a timeout in the first half, the Kings showed a tribute video to Cousins and the fans gave him a big ovation. After the game, Cousins commented on the welcome he got and shared his thoughts on Kings fans.

"I loved it. I’ve got nothing but love for this city. Came here as a kid, left as a man. As I've stated many times, I've got people here I consider family. These fans have been great to me throughout the years and the love will always remain the same,” Cousins said. “It was a special night. The fans were beautiful. They were into the game. They let it be well known they hated every shot I made [laughs], but now I see how other players feel when I used to be on the other side of the fence. I can remember games where the crowd was the reason we won it. So, it’s well known - the Kings have incredible fans.”

Cousins said he was glad to have this game behind him, and I am sure the Kings are as well.
