Bogdan Bogdanovic, Garrett Temple recognized in annual NBA GM Survey

Rebuilding teams usually don’t get a lot of love in these surveys

The NBA has released the results of the annual NBA GM Survey. As usual, NBA GMs are a bunch of haters who don’t think the Sacramento Kings will win the NBA Championship this season, but it’s fun to take a look at the survey results anyway.

Bogdan Bogdanovic was recognized as one of the more underrated offseason acquisitions:

What was the most underrated player acquisition?

1. Paul Millsap, Denver – 24%

2. Avery Bradley, Detroit – 17%

3. Jimmy Butler, Minnesota – 10%

Jae Crowder, Cleveland – 10%

5. Bogdan Bogdanovic, Sacramento – 7%

Rudy Gay, San Antonio – 7%

Garrett Temple was recognized as a player who would make an excellent NBA head coach someday. Kings fans are already aware of Temple’s great work with the young players on the Kings, and I could absolutely see him as a coach someday.

Which active player will make the best head coach someday?

1. Chris Paul, Houston – 39%

2. Manu Ginobili, San Antonio – 14%

3. Stephen Curry, Golden State – 7%

Garrett Temple, Sacramento – 7%

Vince Carter also received a vote in this category.

As for our stash of rookies, De’Aaron Fox received a vote as a potential rookie of the year, but not enough to warrant ranking.

Who will win the 2017-18 Rookie of the Year?

1. Lonzo Ball, L.A. Lakers – 62%

2. Ben Simmons, Philadelphia – 24%

3. Dennis Smith Jr., Dallas – 7%

It’s worth noting that these surveys are pretty hit or miss with their accuracy. Last year 47% of GMs believed Kris Dunn would be ROY.

I’m fine with GMs not paying much attention to Sacramento right now. The Kings are still in the very early stages of the rebuild. It will be fun to see if the young Kings can surprise some folks around the league.
