Questions of the Game

  1. Will Harry Giles play? I know the Kings are taking it slow with their young big man, but at some point, he’s going to need to see in game action. He’s been practicing in full for a while now, and even if it’s only for 10 minutes or so, I’d like to see him on the court. He’s the one rookie the Kings have that I feel like I know nothing about because I simply haven’t been able to see him play. Preseason seems to be the perfect time to let him try some things out without the games being as intense as in the regular season.
  2. Which of the young guys will play well? Tonight is going to be their showcase, as Coach Dave Joerger said on KHTK a few days ago that he will not be playing the veterans tonight. That means the youth will be on full display. Skal Labissiere, De’Aaron Fox and Frank Mason all lit it up in the first game. Can they keep it going, and will we see better performances from the likes of Bogdan Bogdanovic, Justin Jackson, Willie Cauley-Stein or Georgios Papagiannis?
  3. Can the Kings’ young guys bring it on defense? The vets are all fairly defensively sound, but with them not playing it will be up to the young guys to keep the Spurs from scoring. Sure, they won’t be going up against San Antonio’s best, but the Spurs usually find a way to be an efficient offensive team no matter what. The Kings have some promising defensive talent, especially in guys like Fox and Cauley-Stein, but it will require a team effort.

Go Kings!
