The Sacramento Kings are bad, and will be bad for the remainder of the season. We’ll be treated to the rare win like the Denver game, but Monday's 103-88 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves will be a more common outcome. Kings fans were treated to a few fun highlights by the youngsters, but mostly were just faced with the reality that the Kings are a young team with limited practice time who are going to make a lot of mistakes.
The Kings were doomed by 18 turnovers, many of them unforced. The Kings played at a hectic, borderline reckless pace throughout the night. The loss was secured in the second quarter, which the Wolves won 40-19.
Ben McLemore, Willie Cauley-Stein, and Kosta Koufos each finished with 14 points to lead the Kings. The Wolves were led by 29 and 27 points from Karl Anthony-Towns and Andrew Wiggins, respectively.
Random thoughts:
- I need more Skal Labissiere in my life. Easily my favorite guy to root for on this team. He had some nice highlights on both ends of the floor.
- Buddy Hield had a rough night. He seems like a guy who needs to get into a rhythm early.
- The Kings best player is either WCS or Darren Collison. Oof.
- Koufos is a decent center now that I'm not constantly pissed at him being inexplicably paired with Cousins in lineups.
