The Sacramento Kings will get a boost in Wednesday’s game against the Brooklyn Nets, as Arron Afflalo has been upgraded to probable. Afflalo has missed the last three games as he recovered from a sore hamstring.
Kings SG Arron Afflalo upgraded to probable vs Brooklyn tonight
— Sean Cunningham (@SeanCunningham) March 1, 2017
Afflalo has been missed by the Kings in his absence. With Rudy Gay out for the year and Matt Barnes waived as part of the trade with New Orleans, the Kings have been woefully thin at the wing. Afflalo has been solid if unspectacular this season, and provides some veteran leadership on what is now a very young team.
Afflalo should also be a welcome sight for coach Dave Joerger, who notoriously prefers veterans over younger players. With the youth movement in full force for the Kings, it’ll be curious to see how Afflalo impacts the rotation and the opportunities provided to younger Kings. The good news for Kings fans is that none of the young guys play small forward, where Afflalo seems to have found a role this year.
