The Sacramento Kings have traded the 37th pick in the 2018 NBA Draft to the Portland Trail Blazers for two future second round picks according to Adrian Wojnarowski. The Kings drafted Duke’s Gary Trent Jr. for the Blazers.
It’s unclear what second round picks the Kings received, but with them, the Kings now own five extra second round picks (including their own). Including the ones received today, the Kings also own an extra 2019 second rounder, as well as Detroit and Miam’s 2020 second rounders.
De’Anthony Melton, 15th on our draft expert Bryant West’s big board, was still available for the Kings to take at 37, as was Keita Bates-Diop (20th). This trade seems to signal that the Kings do not want to add yet another young guy to a roster already filled with them. This seems to conclude the night for the Sacramento Kings, barring any other deals that might happen.
