Kings show improvements on defense, but there is more work to be done

Defense has been the team's focus this preseason.

The Sacramento Kings defeated the Phoenix Suns 105-88 Thursday night in the team’s first home preseason game.

Following the game, Head Coach Luke Walton and several of the Kings players broke down what went right and what needs improvement as we move toward the season opener a few weeks from now.

The Kings have been working on defense and it paid off against the Suns. The Suns were held to 31 percent from the field and 18 percent (6-33) from three. The Kings also forced them into 21 turnovers (though they had 25 of their own) and outrebounded them 59 to 43.

The players know there is still work to do on defense, and Buddy Hield highlighted the need to pick up the pace on offense.
