The Kings have started putting that final shiny bow on their most successful season since ... well... since Blackberries were the most desired phone in the world, and are in Houston tonight to get one more signature rise-to-the-occasion win on the schedule. This would make sense as just a few days ago they slithered in what is hopefully their last sink-to-the-level-of-your-opponent loss against a Pelicans squad consisting of G-Leaguers and chefs with an expertise in cooking crow. This is one of those stupid early games. If you’re reading this, 40% likely that you’re missing the game right now.
Let’s talk Kings basketball.
When: Saturday, March 30th; 3 pm PST
Where: Toyota Center, Houston, TX
TV: NBCSCA
Radio: KHTK Sports 1140 AM
For Your Consideration
HOU Missed It, Didn’t You?: The Kings are playing their first game in a set of back to backs against playoff teams and so we might end up getting a little extra Joergering around today with the lineups as they have to the pace of the team with not dying on the court in San Antonio. As I blow through this preview for a team you’ve heard and read a bunch about this season, I’m just going to straight up recommend that if you really care about the win-loss record at the end of the season and Willie Cauley-Stein has no rebounds through like a quarter, quarter and a half Saturday afternoon- get the hell out of your living room and enjoy the rest of you day. If he does end up grabbing a few boards, stick around and watch this one and then enjoy your Sunday and don’t sweat what might come of the Spurs tomorrow night. We both know the deal with our starting center. The game tonight also sparks the return of Iman Shumpert who has seen his once best in the NBA Leaderships Per Game plummet after being traded at the deadline. Kings fans have also found in recent months that the man that Mr. Teyana Taylor was traded for, Alec Burks, isn’t real, has never been real and actually only ever existed online and on paper; like water stocks and the Lakers playoff chances this season. The actor the Kings hired to play the man in their attempt to cover-up this mistake, has done a fantastic job in the background of most shots before cutting to commercial, and I’m really interested in what they do with him next season.
You want me to talk about the game? No. James Harden. Chris Paul. Lots of threes and dribbling by the millionaire with the longest beard. You’ve got it, you get it. Games at three o’clock!
Prediction
Willie Cauley-Stein grabs an impressive six boards. Marvin Bagley has an game and grabs 9.
Kings: 113, Rockets: 110
