Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across the NBA. Each week, we send out questions to the most plugged in Sacramento Kings fans, and fans across the country. Sign up here to join Reacts.

The start of the season has been something of a roller coaster for the Kings. But the rocky early season hasn’t caught much of the NBA world off guard.

There have been plenty of other surprises to go around this year. According to the most recent SB Nation Reacts survey, the Raptors’ slow start – along with the hot starts by the Suns, Hornets and Knicks – were considered the biggest surprises so far.

Those teams’ hot starts are due in large part to the play of a few young stars, including LaMelo Ball and Julius Randle. Those players all popped up when fans were asked which players have been the biggest surprises so far. Another pleasant surprise: Sacramento’s own Tyrese Haliburton! Look how large his name is on the word cloud.

Within the Kings orbit, Harrison Barnes has been a positive surprise, averaging per-36 career highs in rebounds, assists, blocks, 2-point field-goal percentage, and 3-point field-goal percentage. Richaun Holmes has been even better than expected after completely surpassing expectations in his first season.

Who have been your biggest surprises (both positive and negative) in the NBA and on the Kings thus far? Let us know in the comments.
