The Sacramento Kings are streaking! After beating the Los Angeles Lakers at Staples Center on Friday, they upset the Dallas Mavericks 111-99 on Sunday. It wasn’t just another win for Sacramento, though:
- Before Friday, the Kings hadn’t won back-to-back games since March 29.
- Friday’s game marked just the fifth time this season the Kings held a team under 100 points.
- With a win on Friday, the Kings swept the Mavericks in their regular season series with them. They also swept the Mavericks during the 2018-19 season.
- Marvin Bagley III scored 23 points and posted a plus-minus of 20. It was his second time in his career that he’s had 20 points and a plus-minus over +20.
Friday may have been a flash in the pan win for the Kings, but the things they did are deserving or recognition; particularly the things that Bagley did. Even if he doesn’t have a future in Sacramento, it’s important that he shows growth in these finals few games.
The Kings will look to extend their winning streak to three games when they visit the Oklahoma City Thunder on Tuesday.
