It's that time of year again. Starting August 3rd the Sacramento Kings, Golden State Warriors, Los Angeles Lakers, and Miami Heat will play a total of 4 games over two days to kickoff the NBA summer league season.
Kings- The King's Summer league roster can be found here. One member of the King's roster that I will be excited to watch is Matt Coleman. Coleman had a fantastic career at the University of Texas. I put the link to one of Coleman's finest performances here.
Warriors- The Warrior's summer league roster can be found here. One player on the Warriors roster that I'm interested in is Justinian Jessup. Jessup, the 51st draft pick in the 2020 NBA draft spent the last year with the Illawarra Hawks of the Australian National Basketball League. Coming in with the reputation of a sniper, Jessup apparently models his game after Duncan Robinson.
Lakers- The Laker's summer league can be found here. The Lakers nabbed one of the most shocking udfa's in Gonzaga's Joel Ayayi. As arguably the best cutter in college basketball last season Ayayi was consistently mocked in the late first round but probably slide down teams draft boards after skipping the combine.
Heat- The Heat's summer league roster can be found here. (On a related note Precious Achiuwa was traded to the Raptors in a three team trade that will bring Kyle Lowry to the Heat). If you watch March Madness this year chances are you saw Houston's Dejon Jarreau grind it out for his team. While any team would like to add someone with Jarreau mentality the fit with Miami is perfect.
